Cannot boot off a USB Drive RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have created a bootable usb drive but I cannot get the tablet to boot off it.  I saw in the release notes that the drive cannot be larger than 4GB and must be FAT32 formatted.  I have done both and made sure the partition is primary and active but no luck.  The same drive can boot another PC without any issue.

  • I get to the bios screen where you are given the option to Boot from USB but it says No bootable image found.

  • Thanks MosoLee!  I was able to boot into WinPE and launch the installer for Windows 8 from the usb drive we got at the conference.  Ended up being a great solution since winpe allows you to take out the usb drive after it has loaded and then swap in the larger usb drive we got from the conference to run the installer from there.  Thanks again!
