How to internationalize a push message RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have to send out a push notification with a text to a metro-style app. This metro app is installed on different devices in different languages.  How can I internationalize my text message. Should I sent a message per language ? Is there any mechanism to internationalize the same massage for different languages according to the target device ?

  • Hi,

Please take the following steps to localize strings for different languages and markets.
1.Copy all strings from code and/or markup into a resource file (ResW or ResJSON), providing resource comments as necessary.
2.Add resource references in the code and markup to refer to the resource.
3.Isolate localizable resource files from language-neutral files, placing them in language tag named folders (such as en-US, fr-FR folder)

Please refer to Quickstart: designing a globalized Metro style app for more details.

    Best wishes,
