Build Deployment Package for WDP 2010 fails

Hi gentleman,
I have a web application with an associated web deployment project which performs certain web.config transformations and precompiles the site. The precompilations if quite important for us, hence I cannot use the web deployment tool without WDP.
Right now I'm manually packaging the output of the WDP project compilation but I would like to use the Build Deployment Package feature that comes with WDP 2010, however, when I run it, the WDP project compiles well, performs the web.config replacements but I do not see it performing any packaging. After running the pacaking feature the WDP project folder contains a folder with the active solution type and inside I see my precompiled site, but not the packaged one.
Am I doing anything wrong? How should I be using it? The worst thing is that I do not know where to start troubleshooting this.
Thanks in advance,
Enric

I had migrated the Wed Deployment Project from the 2008 version and something migh have not worked ok. After reading the previous blog post, I decided to just delete the wdproj file an recreate it from scratch, and now everything works fine.
Thanks a lot for pointing me in the right direction!!
