Linked tables RRS feed

    Hi All,

I would like to seperate my .mdb file from my asp.net files a bit to ensure that they do not accidentally get overwritten with an older version when I publish my site.  I currently have the Access file in my App_Data folder, but would like to change this.  I have attempted to use "Linked Tables" to accomplish this but I receive an error that states my file is already opened or I lack permissions.

In addition to "NETWORK SERVICE", do I need to specify other permissions on my .mdb file so that link.mdb can read/write to data.mdb?

    Thanks for your help.

Maybe if I ask this differently...

When working with code locally then publishing up to the server, how do you guys protect the database from accidentally being written over?  I use VS2005 and keep my .mdb in the App_Data folder.

    Thanks in advance.
