Windows 7 cannot conect to sql server 2000 in another domain RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a database running in "domain x" sql server 2000. When I try to connect to the database using windows xp and access 2007 under "domain y" I have no problem connecting and accesing it. Under a similar condition but different operating system Windows 7 and access 2007 under "domain y" I get an error that says "data provider could not be initialized".

Both in the windows 7 and windows xp box I stored the same user name and password to access the sql server "domain x".

How come it works for xp and not for windows 7?
