  • Seems like your DVD might be corrupt.

First, please check if you have a correct ISO by comparing the hash:

    - Download http://download.microsoft.com/download/c/f/4/cf454ae0-a4bb-4123-8333-a1b6737712f7/windows-kb841290-x86-enu.exe and install fciv

    - run C:\{your path here}\fciv.exe –sha1 <ISO file>

    - compare the hash with http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/apps/br229516/

After you verified this, you can install windows using two options (you don't to burn a DVD)

    1) If you want to install WDP to a seperate primary partition, you could simple mount the downloaded ISO with the Nero Image utility and run the setup.exe directly from your current OS. No need to create a DVD.

    2) If you want to install WDP to a VHD, you can do the following: http://www.walkernews.net/2009/12/26/how-to-check-md5-checksum-in-windows-7/

    Hope this helps.

  • You can also try repairing your ISO file in place by using parity volumes.

If the file is nearly complete but corrupt you can try using QUICKPAR to repair the missing/corrupt portions of the file. Install QUICKPAR on your computer (freeware) and then download each of these files into the same directory as your ISO. Then double-click on the PAR2 file (the first one) and QUICKPAR will validate the file and repair it as best it can. Not a guaranteed solution but it can help you avoid re-downloading 6 GB.

    Link to QUICKPAR: http://www.quickpar.org.uk/

Download the parity files for the version of the ISO you have from here: http://vxcv.com/wdp-par2/

Start with the first (smallest) file and work your way down the list until you have enough blocks. I will try to keep these files available until Windows 8 Beta ships.
