Would editing permissions on a sharepoint form library item cause a SPD workflow to fail? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a SPD workflow running on a MOSS form library. The WF is set to start whenever an item is created. The InfoPath form in the library is a housing application for college students. They fill out the application and submit. From there, the WF routes the form to various college staff to approve/reject. However, unlike a list, SP libraries do not allow you to limit a user's permissions to viewing and editing only their own items. So what we've had to do is edit permissions on the form after a student submits (meaning, we select Manage Permissions, Edit Permissions, and then remove the permissions for all students except the form's owner).

Does anyone know if this would cause the WF to fail. We ran tests where we didn't edit permissions and the WF completed as designed. We're not changing staff permissions (meaning, the folks involved in WF activities).
