Changing the SharePoint Timer Service Account RRS feed

  • Question

  • Currently I have the Farm Account running the SharePoint Timer Service.

I have a number of timer jobs that fire various workflows with task processes in them. My problem is that the Task that is created does not fire the workflow that normally fires on new task creation. I believe this is a result of having a farm account fire the original workflow. I have tried writing event receivers to trigger the workflow but that has not be successful either.

I am at the point that I believe I need to update the SharePoint Timer Service Account, Should I create a specific account for this purpose or use the local account and what permissions should a SharePoint Timer Service Account have.

Thanks I have been having fits trying to figure out this problem.
