How do Iremove auto-loading Business Labels when creating a custom map? RRS feed

  • Question

  • How can I eliminate the auto-loading of businesses locations? Some of them are competitors, and the rest are just clutter.

I want the streetnames, but not the auto-loaded businesses, as I am adding tags for the businesses I want to show.

  • If this is for a business app you shouldn't be using the Bing Maps consumer site. We have a full developer API for custom maps that you can add to your website. No business icons are on the map. Here is a document on how to create a simple store locator, a good sample to understand how to use Bing Maps: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn948092.aspx

  • Which map control is this? Most Bing Maps controls don't even have an option to show business locations on the map.

  • It is a custom map at bing.com/maps

  • There's no way to change what businesses the bing maps website shows as part of the base map. If you're just linking to the bing maps website, all you can do is add pushpins on top of the data it already displays.
