passing large byte() to wcf causes error RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    Always getting an error of "The maximum message size quota for incoming messages (65536) has been exceeded."

    even if i change the web.config settings on both client and wcf  to

    2147483647

    to all attribute value, it seems that it always uses the default.

    Bindings i am using is "wshttpbindings"

    not a silverlight project, just asp.net connecting to wcf

    tried reading almost all related topic on this and tried the code as well, but still getting the error

    any help will do, thanks a bunch

  • Hi,

    You also need to increase maxBufferSize. Also note that you might need to increase the readerQuotas as well.

    Please try as following:

    <bindings>
         <wsHttpBinding>
             <binding name="basicHttp" allowCookies="true"
     maxReceivedMessageSize="20000000"
     maxBufferSize="20000000"
     maxBufferPoolSize="20000000">
                 <readerQuotas maxDepth="32"
     maxArrayLength="200000000"
     maxStringContentLength="200000000"/>
             </binding>
         </wsHttpBinding> </bindings>
    Best Regards.

  • Hello Makoychan,

    Could you please post your config for the client?  Most likely it is a typeo in the file as your approach is correct.

    Cheers
