Azman and windows access token RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

I am trying to build a WindowsService that makes calls into AzMan. This WindowsService application makes use of sockets  so that other applications can connect.

The documentation for AzMan recommends InitializeClientContextFromToken.

I need to pass WindowsIdentity across the remoting objects - Ideally it is the WindowsIdenity.Token that would go with InitializeClientContextFromToken?.Basically I want to pass the token from client to service.

Any guidance on this would be really appreciated,

    Thanks in advance,

    Muffy.

  • Muffadal,

According to your question on passing the token from client to service, I would like to suggest you to use the WindowsIdentity.Impersonate method with userToken parameter (IntPtr) that impersonates the user represented by the specified user token.

There is a thread pass Windows identity to service here with the answer by Dan Rigsby. If you are developing in WCF, it is better to post the question in Windows Communication Foundation ("Indigo") forum for the expert support.

Thanks for your question and hope that can help you.
