Crystal Reports intermittently prints data values slightly to the left RRS feed

  • Question

  • I've struggled over the past 6 weeks with a very odd problem. We have a few Crystal Reports (CR) generating a couple of dozen print-outs per day in a hospital ward. When we upgraded to .net framework 2, CR started hitting a "Print job limit". The code worked perfectly before. With some assistance from CR support desk, we cleaned up any "report leaks" and temporary files. We also increased the PrintJobLimit value in the registry. However, we are left with the following problem: every couple of hours to couple of days, the printout gets corrupted - fields with data values in them get shifted over to the left inside their boxes so that some of the information gets hidden. Obviously in a hospital this is a very big deal. The only way to clear the problem is to restart IIS, which is most inconvenient because it kills all the sessions. The users have been getting very annoyed with us, understandably. CR support has not been able to offer any solution or explanation, and in desperation we have started porting our reports to the ReportViewer control. Has anyone else seen this problem?

  • This forum is for the MS .Net ReportViewer control.

While someone here might be able to help you, you would prolly be better served to post this query in the CR-specific forum. Good luck!
