Kinect v2 problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an Asus G73SW gaming laptop that I cannot seem to get my Xbox Kinect V2 to work on. I have followed all the guidelines and nothing seems to work. When I look in device manager I can see the Kinect is there but it won't start.

Under events in device manager I see this  Device USB\VID_045E&PID_02C4&MI_00\7&c2f0367&4&0000 requires further installation.

In the Kinect for Windows connection verifier it has a red X beside of USB Controller. I am guessing that the Kinect is not detecting that I have a 3.0 USB port, which I do. It is the Fresco Logix  xHCI (USB)3 Controller FL1000 series.

I have updated all drivers three separate times. I have even done a clean install of Windows 10 and allowed it to update before reloading the Kinect drivers and software.

    My laptop specs are:

    Intel Core i7 2630 QM

    Intel® HM65 Express Chipset

    16 GB of DDR3 1333 MHz SDRAM,

    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 460M 1.5GB GDDR5 VRAM

    1 USB 3.0 port

I am running Kinect 2.0 and have a Kinect model number 1520

I do have the aftermarket power/usb adapter

Any ideas on this? I have run out of ways to figure it out.
