Insufficient framerate on Dell Inspiron 13 7000 Series RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi All,

I'm trying to start development on a Kinect project using a Dell Inspiron 13. Specs are:

6th-generation Intel Core i7-6500U 2.5GHz (Turbo up to 3.1GHz). Skylake
    16GB Single Channel DDR3L 1600MHz, 512 GB Solid-State Drive

Intel HD Graphics 520 with shared graphics memory

When I run the Kinect Configuration Verifier I get mostly green checks except for an orange exclamation point for the USB Controller section with the message:

"Unknown USB 3.0 port detected. Your USB configuration may support Kinect for Windows."

and the Verify Kinect Depth and Color Streams keeps switching between green, orange, and red. When it's red I get the message:

    "Insufficient framerate detected from Kinect"

Does this have to do with my unknown USB port? Is there anything I can do about this?

  • I have never encountered a USB port that actually gets a green on Verifier. Have you noticed, if at another time, it worked ok? Like, switching between just green and orange, in Verify Kinect Depth and Color Streams?

I had some such situations where a sensor had some connectivity problem on the same dev machine but usually it works fine.
