  • Hello, same problem here.

    I've added this entry to fstab on  Oracle Linux 7 (It's a VM on Azure)

    //rgazuredmz3998.file.core.windows.net/fsmoodledata01             /var/moodledata         cifs vers=3.0,username=[accountname],password=[accountKey]==,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=0777

    and this is the error in /var/log/Messages

    [   32.284857] CIFS VFS: missing security blob on negprot
    [   32.286590] CIFS VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -5

    Is there any update?

    Thak you in advance

  • Update the kernel. IIRC there is a bug in 3.8.13 causing the problems with CIFS mounts. Upgrade to 3.10 or newer.
