Programmatically create an application package RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I'm using the "Application Package" feature of Azure Batch. I create a zip of my application, go to portal.azure.com, select the name, the version and upload the zip myself.

I would like to automate this process. I didn't saw anything related in the REST Api or the .NET SDK.

Is there a way to programmatically create a new application package, set is version and upload its zip ?

  • Hi Nicolas,

You can do this using the latest build of the management library: https://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Azure.Management.Batch/  The sequence of operations to upload is:

    • Call Add Application Package (from the Batch Management library)
    • This returns a storage URL including a SAS token
    • Use the Azure Blob Storage library to upload the zip file to this storage URL
    • Wait for upload to complete
    • Call Activate Application Package (from the Batch Management library)

Powershell cmdlets for application package management should ship soon – these will include a cmdlet that encapsulates the above sequence.
