Unable to add subscription as user after creating offer RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey All,

Be gentle I am new to Azure having come from working on OpenStack so this is all very strange :/

I am now following this guide having setup an Azure Stack dev kit.

    • Setup an offer tenancy and plan
    • Created a test user in Azure
    • Logged in with the new User

However I am unable to add a subscription, in fact other documentation I have read suggests there should be a "get subscription" on the dashboard but there is nothing there.

    Any advice?

    Cheers

    Charlie

  • From the user perspective you go to wrong site. Use https://adminportal.local.azurestack.external as admin portal only, and https://portal.local.azurestack.external as user portal.

  • Login under azurestack\azurestackadmin user to Admin Portal and check that your offer have set to Public. By default offers created in Private state, so your users do not see incomplete offers.

  • Also you can assign subscription to specified user without making offer Public, it also can help in testing that offer prepared well

  • Thank you, I can confirm it is public

  • Thanks I have tried this also and still no joy.

Interestingly if I login as the user and go to subscriptions it says:

"You have no subscriptions, click the 'Add' above to get a new subscription."

However there is no Add button!! Here's a screen grab (I would have uploaded but MSDN forum says it needs to verify my account), https://ibb.co/k3E2fb.

  • Actually to see Offer's subscriptions you need go to Offers -> Your Offer -> Subscriptions

  • And if you login with azurestack\azurestackadmin user to Admin Portal you must see at least one subscription in just "Subscriptions" - this is "Default Provider Subscription"

  • Mmm...from a user perspective offer doesn't exist: https://ibb.co/hqcxfb

And from the admin side I see: https://ibb.co/mdQB6G

And yes the only admin tenancy subscription is "Default Provider Subscription"

All in all I'm very confused.
