Can not load script pages RRS feed

When I tried to debug my web application in VS2008, it does not show the client side script under "Script documents" in Solution Explorer. The only child node is a "Windows Internet Explorer" icon with no properties. It used to be able to show the dynamically generated script file where I can set breakpoints.

I also tried to do it within IE by choosing menu "View->External Debugger->Open". VS2008 responds with "The source code cannot be displayed".

    Anybody has met this probelm?

    Many thanks.

The Express version don't support the View Script Documents.

I have professional edition 2008 and it used to work fine. Turn out the root reason is that I installed MS script debugger.  But after uninstalling it, I got an error from VS2008 saying "Script debugger unable to attach to the iexplorer process. An error occurred that usually indicates a corrupt installation (code 0x80040155). If the problem persists, repair your Visual Studio installation via 'Add or Remove Programs' in Control Panel." Just like this one:

Tried repair/reinstall but did not help at all.

For whoever might interested, I have to do regsvr32 on all DLLs under %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\VS7Debug\.

    That fixed it.

    Thanks swang004!  It works!Laughing

i cant debug javascript using VS 2008 suddenly after install MS script debugger. When i set the breakpoint at javascript, error 'document not loaded' , i found out the script documents at Solution Explorer missing/ not loaded.

Problem solved after i install all dll inside folder  C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\microsoft shared\VS7Debug using regsvr32. Cool

    Thx swang004,

this also worked for me, when the "Script document" node has vanished in VS 2010 after deinstalling IE10 due to javascript debugging issues (W7).
