Unable to use status bar class inside a universal library in window 8.1

    Question

  • In windows 8.1 the system tray has been changed to StatusBar and it seems it can only be accessed using code. I want to manipulate the status bar inside my universal library code but it does not have statusbar class even on including Windows.UI.ViewManagement namespace.

But the same works in an app project. Is there any way for me to hide the status bar in my library code?

  • There isn't a StatusBar in Windows 8.1. It is available only in Windows Phone and so can only be used from phone specific code.
