SQL data sync - does not update data on hub database RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

We have an sync group with 1 hub server and 1 on-prem member, syncing via SQL data sync. The sync is one-way (to the hub), and conflict res. is set to "member wins". All tables that we want to sync from the member is selected, and the sync runs without error. The problem is that it doesnt update/add any data on the hub server despite new/updated data on the member server(on-prem). All data on the hub is from the date when the sync was set up and the inital sync was run, but it hasnt updated/added any data since then.

What could be the cause of the sync not to update or add data, when it synced all data on the initial sync?

  • Hi Magnus,

On the Data Sync page, is Automatic Sync set to On or Off? And if set to On is there an interval set? I think Automatic Sync is set to Off by default, and you may have overlooked this. Let's hope this is the issue, as it is fairly easy to resolve. If you have enabled Auto Sync, then we need to dig into the issue a bit.

The following document lists some options to troubleshoot data sync issues (link). If you have no error messages to investigate, you will need to monitor the data sync process to uncover any issue that is occurring that you are currently unaware of: Monitor SQL Data Sync with Azure Monitor logs (link).
