  • Hi AC_INC,

    Thanks for your post.

Could you tell me what’s your project type? And was your project created in VS2010?

By the way, when did the error occurred? Open the Visual Studio or open a project?

First I suggest you could reset all menu bar then try it again.( Tools menu -> Customize -> Commands.)

Try running Visual Studio in safe mode to Check whether some add-ins and extensions affect it. (devenv /safemode)

Please restart your machine and restart your Visual Studio. Then create a new project with same project type.

Check whether exist the same behavior.

    1. If the error behavior is occurred for the specified project. I suppose there is something wrong with your project.

May be you could try to create a new project and copy the files into it. Then try it again.

    2. If the error occurred even for a new project. I think there is something wrong with your VS installation.

Try to repair your Visual Studio 2013 or install the VS2013 update 5 then try it again. May be the issue will be solved.

If still no help. If possible. Please provide us the installation log so that we could troubleshoot it.

I suggest you could use the  http://aka.ms/vscollect tool to collect the installation logs. After using it, you will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder.

Then  upload the file to  https://onedrive.live.com/    and share the link here.

    Best Regards,

    Lake Xiao

  • Hi,

As this issue is about Visual Studio (rather than Visio), I've moved this thread to the corresponding forum.
