using XNA on C#


  • can i use Xna form in C# windows application

  • Im not possative but I know that in the past, you could NOT use windows forms with direct3d or OpenGL since they lock out the rendering device and windows forms elements use the GDI for rendering. You could try, but I would imagine that even if they draw at all there just going to be flickering and popping (fighting with D3D).

  • Actually, you could probably specify that xna only renders to a portion of the screen... rendering area = 300,300 window size = 600,600 for example.

  • Yes, you can.  There's Ziggy's article, and another sample called "RenderControl" which creates a Windows forms control you can drop on your form.
