visual studio 2005 and visual studio 2008 (Which one is best) RRS feed

    i am developing a website using VS 2005 standard edition sql server 2008 is installed on my server so i came to know about 1 problem that i cannot create database if i am using VS 2005 and SQL server 2008

    So what should i do, change my server from 2008 to 2005 ? or i should install VS 2008 and uninstall 2005

    which one is world while ?

     I greatly prefer vs2008 to vs2005 for a number of reasons, but bascially you are usually best off with the newer set of dev tools.

    that depend upon u what version u choose on requirement.

     

    if 2.0 is sufficient for that go with it

     

    but require to use linq new concept wcf and wpf then go for 2008

     

    as personaly believe go with visual studio 2008

    it has great new features and make program more faster in doing coding and great works

    The ability to use LINQ, is enough reason to want 2008.  It has come in quite handy, on many occasions.

    You mention SQL2008 on the server - SQL2005 databases can be detached and attached to SQL2008 server.

    I do suggest however that you upgrade to Visual Studio and SQL 2008 for your development.

    Install the following VS 2005 update which should enable you to use it with SQL server 2008.
