Bing Maps API question RRS feed

  • Question

  • I know I can place push pins, and also draw rectangle/circle's as a map overlay ontop of bing maps currently but my question is has anyone found a way to maybe use the route information to block out and highlight city blocks on a bing map? For instance .. if they click a city block it would highlight the whole block maybe using the surrounding streets filling in that area with a specified color? Before I dive into trying to determine the area around the tap on the map based off route data as if they were to drive in a circle around the block I figured I would ask .. Thanks for any input on this!

  • You can do it with routing on Nokia Maps for Windows Phone 8

    public Maps_Routing()
        RouteQuery query = new RouteQuery()
            TravelMode = TravelMode.Driving,
            Waypoints = new List<GeoCoordinate>()
                new GeoCoordinate(37.79547,-122.393129), // ferry building
                new GeoCoordinate(37.794911,-122.402871) // Transamerica Pyramid
         query.QueryCompleted += query_QueryCompleted;
    void query_QueryCompleted(object sender, QueryCompletedEventArgs<Route> e)
        myMap.AddRoute(new MapRoute(e.Result));
