    how to add an external hard disk to cluster nodes in sql server 2008?

    What do you mean by external hard disk? Do you mean a literal external drive by usb or do you mean more shared storage provisioned to the cluster?

    The first step is to provision the storage and allow the specific possible owning nodes to see the storage. Under the failover cluster manager choose to add a new resource and choose to add a disk resource. You'll want to put it in the correct resource group when you add the storage. If this is for SQL Server, you'll have to add the new disk to the dependency list to the sql server clustered resource.
