List currently logged in users on network (via Active Directory) RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I've pulled basic information out of AD via System.DirectoryServices but cannot work out a method to find out currently logged in users?
I would like to produce a list of users within a Group, highlighing those currently logged in\active.

  • You can check this article for some reference: Working with Active Directory in VB.NET
This article discusses working within the Active Directory (AD) using VB.NET, how to query the AD, query groups, members, adding users, suspending users, and changing user passwords.

    1.  Add a new user to the network

    2.  Suspend a user's account

    3.  Enable a user's account

    4.  Reset a user's password

    5.  Update a user account

    6.  Add a user to a specific group

    7.  Remove a user from a group

    8.  Retrieve the list of all groups a user is a member of

    9.  Retrieve all computers connected to the network

    10.  Determine if a user's account is disabled

    11.  Check if a user account is active (perform a basic login)

And check this thread about how to query users in Active Directory.

There is one specialized forum. You're likely to get better responses there.
