data encryption in transit RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently using healthvault java sdk on android. I have a question about data encryption.

As I understand, personal account information is encrypted but other data such as weight, medication aren't encrypted. Even though these data are not related to medical information, they're also private data and user wants to send them in safety. if application can communicate with the server, data should be encrypted and safety is also guaranteed.

I know any stored data in healthvault server side is encrypted and it is decrypted when only application or user access the data.

but during uploading and downloading, healthvault server and client can use data encryption? if yes, how can?

  • All communication is down with HealthVault over HTTPS. Using HTTPS, all data is encrypted in transport by SSL.
