WinCE 6.0 with IE6 connect to https website will cause "The certificate is not valid" error? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a question as the title,

    I'm building wince6 r3 with vs2005 and platform builder,

when i surfing and connect to https web site by IE6 in wince,

    like http://mail.google.com or https://www.dropbox.com

it's will appear security alert dialogue,   for example,

    http://mail.google.com

"There is a problem with the site's security certificate.

The security certificate is from a trusted certifying authority.

The security certificate date is valid.

The name on the security certificate is invalid."

    and view the certificate,

    friendly Name is *.google-analytics.com

    something weird is comment,

it say "The certificate is not valid. Make sure the time on your computer is correct."

but if the time goes wrong, it's should be error at first dialogue.

so i have no idea with that...

enviroment: VS2005 Trial edition and CE6 Platform builder SP1.

    Thanks.

  • So you've tried what to identify the source of the problem?  You've checked the date on your Windows CE device and it was correct?

  • @mosquito520: were you able to resolve your issue?  I'm experiencing the same problem and haven't been able to find a fix yet.  I've contacted both the device manufacturer (of the device that has WinCE installed on it) and Google to no avail so far.

@Paul G. Tobey: I have checked the time and it's correct.

  • The only other thing I can think of is to be sure that the device's current date/time is right, too.  Sorry!
