Cannot remove users in Azure AD Domain Services

    Question

  • I've removed an Azure AD user in the Azure Portal, but that user still remains in the AADDS managed directory, with "Disabled" and immutable state (you cannot edit/remove users in ou=AADDC Users with AD Administrative Center). How can I completely remove the user from AADDS?

  • I managed to remove users in AADDS.  The symptom above is mentioned in this document: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-domain-services/active-directory-ds-troubleshooting#users-removed-from-your-azure-ad-tenant-are-not-removed-from-your-managed-domain (sorry I'm not verified by forum admins).

All I need to do was getting Azure AD PowerShell v1 module and use "Remove-MsolUser -RemoveFromRecycleBin".

How can I do that with v2 module?  I cannot find equivalent cmdlets/functions in it.

  • Azure AD DS hasn't moved to ARM yet, so you won't see commands that work with that in the v2 module yet.

  • I think the problem is about Azure AD's "RecycleBin" feature, which is not directly related to AADDS.  Is it also unsupported in ARM?

It would be nice for users to be able to see and manage Recycle Bin in the Azure Portal because it's a fundamental feature in Azure AD.
