ERROR: Cannot determine the location of the VS Common Tools folder

  • Hello,

    i get this error above when try to run vcvars32.bat.

    I found a solution in the web, which recommends to do those changes:

    @SET VSINSTALLDIR=c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0

    @SET VCINSTALLDIR=c:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\VC

    @SET FrameworkDir32=c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework

    @SET FrameworkVersion32=v4.0.30319

    @SET Framework35Version=v3.5

    :: Comment out the following lines

    :: @call :GetVSCommonToolsDir

    :: @if "%VS100COMNTOOLS%"=="" goto error_no_VS100COMNTOOLSDIR

    :: @call "%VS100COMNTOOLS%VCVarsQueryRegistry.bat" 32bit No64bit

    However, my problem is that i can't edit vcvars32.bat.

    I have VS 2008 installed and VS 2010. I want to install a vs 2010 from command line.

    For the correct compiler selection i need to set the vars.

    Any help appreciated.

    Administrator privileges are required to write to the Program Files/Program Files(x86) folders, therefore you need to run your text editor (e.g. Notepad) as Administrator to save the changes.
