  • There are some videos on Channel 9, but many of them are old.

I suggest that you start by working through the tutorials and reading the help. Also look on the web. There are samples for RDS on CodePlex for instance.

  • 1. Learn C#.

    2. Learn Visual Studio.

    3. Learn Programming in the process.

    4. Buy this book and read it 5 times... http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTitle/Professional-Microsoft-Robotics-Developer-Studio.productCd-0470141077.html

    You're DONE :)

  • hi i have good grip on C# and Visual studio.  According to my understanding, you want to say that C# language is used for microsoft robotics. isn't?

  • Yes... c# is the main language.

MRDS is a complex collection of tools and if you're a dev I'd suggest the Wrox book. I'm currently reading it and it's helping me. MRDS seems to be evolving quickly and most of the code samples in the text need tweaking to get them to work.  The online code samples are up-to-date for R3.

Look like there's another book due out soon as well http://www.amazon.com/Development-Microsoft-Robotics-Developer-Studio/dp/1439821658/ref=sr_1_3?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1282424491&sr=1-3

There are some video links on this site http://www.microsoft.com/robotics/#Learn.

One thing I do find one thing a little irritating about the "learn" web page - the material is presented alphabetically, not necessarily in the order you should go through it.  But a lot of it links to the user's guide, which is in order.  http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd936006.aspx

  • The book you referred to is primarily about VPL, which of course will be relevant to people in this forum.

The last I heard from the publisher it was still due in November.
