Outlook 2016 HTML formatted calendar invites lose formatting when received by older clients. RRS feed

  • Question

  • When a user on Outlook 2016 sends calendar invites that contain HTML formatted content to users on older (Outlook 2010 and 2013) clients, the HTML formatting is stripped and replaced with plain text. This only seems to be the case when using the Outlook 2016 client and cannot be reproduced using 2010 or 2013.

Has anyone come across this and found a solution?

  • Hello,

Do you have any code in the ItemSend event handler? Are there any other add-ins or VBA code run in Outlook?

  • Are you sending invitations through SMTP or to another mailboxes in the same Exchange domain?

Do you develop with Outlook? It would be helpful if you could share us more information about your issue.
