EW4 trial installation not seeing EW3 installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Downloaded and installed the EW4 trial which I assumed would find my valid EW3 installation.
It didn't - still tells me that I have to enter a product key in 60 days.
    Am I missing something?

  • Did you try entering your EW3 product key?

  • Thanks Chris, it worked. Not exactly clear though. The FAQ page on Paul's link says -

"Just download the trial of Expression Web 4 to the machine on which you have Expression Web 3 installed. The version 4 trial will find the existing license and convert from a trial to a perpetual product."

Sounds like an automatic process, but obviously not.

  • I entered my EW3 product key in EW3, and it is activated.  But my EW4 is still asking me for the activation key.  I tried using the EW3 key, but it said it was invalid.  Where do I go from here?

I purchased EW3 from Digtal River (if that makes a difference).

    Thanks!

  • Was EW3 installed and activated before you installed EW4?
    - if not, uninstall EW4 and reinstall, it now that you have activated EW3

  • Yes, I installed EW3 and activated it, and then installed EW4.  I'll try to reinstall and let you know what happened.
