Web Service for Data Exchange RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am new to web services and Need some inputs/suggestions on our scenario.

    Current Architecture

    1.  I've a multiple systems(web apps,SAP,d2k+oracle based apps) which needs data exchange in between.

    2. Currently these sytems exchange data in a .csv format file output.

    3. Data providing application generates .csv file and it is kept at an FTP share. Scheduled(every 2 hrs).

    4. Data receiving application reads the .csv file line by line and inserts the data in its own datastore.

    Potential Challanges

    5. This architecture is (i) prone to scheduler failuer, (ii) no realtime data availability, etc.

    Proposed Architecture

    6. A centralized web service which provides a standard interface to read & write to different data sources.

Alternate Commercial solutions we've considered which we think can provide such functionalities. - MS BizTalk, IBM WebSphere MQ, Magic xpi Integration.

    Pls help.

    Thanks & Regards,
