Assigning values to variables RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

    A real L driver here!

    I am trying to assign some values to a variable and to add the value of 2 variables. However, the value is always blank or zero.

    ******

    If status = single then
        if carerprem = no then
              appropamt = 100
            endif
            endif

    ******

    I have proved that the variables 'status' and 'carerprem' are set to single and no respectively, but when I enter

    TextWindow.WriteLine("your appropriate amount is " + appropamt)

    it returns a value of blank.

    Help!

  • Are 'single' and 'no' strings? Then you should put the value in double quotes:  if status="single" then ....
