How to configure my Clubwebsite to use ASPEMAIL instead of SMTP/IIS RRS feed

     Hello,

     I'm having problems to configure my (club)website with the necessary steps to use ASPEMAIL instead of SMTP/IIS. The website uses a passwordrecovery utility with sending email to users to reset their passwords.

    The information on WWW.ASPEMAIL.COM is to complex for  me and I'm wundering if there is somebody who can explain to me where i have to change what.

    My guess is that I should put certain code in the login.aspx, the question is what and where ?

    PS: I already copied ASPEMAILLIB to the BIN directory of my project.

     Ok,

    Found the solution myself. When you use a (club)starterskit and are forced to use ASPEMAIL the following changes should be made:

    1 copy the ASPEMAIL.dll to the project BIN-directory

    2 make the necessary changes in web.config as below (replace yourdomain & webmaster with your settings)

    <mailSettings>
       <smtp from="webmaster@yourdomain.nl">
        <network host="mail.yourdomain.nl"/>
       </smtp>
      </mailSettings>

    3 change login.aspx as below

     login.aspx (old)

    <%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/Default.master" Title="Login" %>
    <%@ Register TagPrefix="Club" Namespace="ClubSite" %>

    login.aspx (new)

    <%@ Page Language="VB" MasterPageFile="~/Default.master" Title="Login" %>
    <%@ Register TagPrefix="Club" Namespace="ClubSite" %>
    <%@import Namespace="ASPEMAILLIB" %>

    4 Copy the changed files/directories to your server.

    That's all.

    Very easy, I downloaded the ASPEMAIL install s/w from WWW.ASPEMAIL.COM and  installed ASPEMAIL on my laptop. Then copied the DLL from C:\Program Files\Persits Software\AspEmail\Bin into the bin directory of my VWD project.

    That's all.
