    ************** JIT Debugging **************

    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this

    application or computer (machine.config) must have the

    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.

    The application must also be compiled with debugging

    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>

        <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />

    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception

    will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer

    rather than be handled by this dialog box.

  • Hi Emerald,

    Welcome to the MSDN forum.

    First, could you please let me know what your OS and Service Pack level is?

    Second, I recommend you try to use .NET Framework Setup Verification Tool to verify the .NET Frameworks you have installed. Then please let me know the results.

    Next, I recommend you try to reboot to windows safe mode to check if the error will occur. If the error still occur, the .NET Framework installed on your machine probably have corrupted.

    If you have any other concerns, please feel free to let me know.

  • Hi EmeraldAria,

    Thank you for your reply.

    From the verification log, you have .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and .NET Framework 4 Client installed. Since the error message does not occur in safe mode, your problem is related to a program or a service which automatically run when your computer boots up. You can follow the steps here to find the program: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

    If you have any other concerns, please feel free to let me know.

  • Thanks for the tip, Alexander. In the meantime, I checked my startup items and deleted Microsoft Office Communicator from the list, since I don't use it. It did the trick! I no longer receive the error message.

  • Emerald, You would probably have better luck addressing this issue in the msdn forums, not the Framework forum.  Soulds like offhand that you need to reinstall the .net framework, and make sure to run windows update. On the other hand, you may want to look at how your .net project is setup in visual studio to perform builds correctly.
