    Question

  • will the windows 8 preview run on this device?

    HTC EVO View 4G 32GB WiFi Tablet Android 7" 1.5GHz 1GB RAM 5MP Camera

  • Memory : 32GB eMMC / RAM: 1GB, LPDDR2.
  • Processor : Super-Speedy 1.5-GHz Snapdragon Qualcomm Processor.
  • Operating System : Android 2.3 Gingerbread powered with HTC SENSE.

In general, if the tablet device runs the newest level of android, will it also work with windows 8?

  • Steve Richter, The following link will lead you to the download page for Windows Developer Preview and at the bottom of that page are the system requirements for running the Windows Developer Preview Operating System. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/br229516.

  • You need to ask whether those tablet makers have plan to write Windows 8 drivers for their hardware. Microsoft does not make the decision.

But Microsoft does make the decision as to whether Windows desktop will even be available for ARM, and they seem to be very undecided on this issue.

Personally, I think it would be fine (better even) if traditional Windows did not run on ARM.
