Remote process, access denied RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi!

    I am trying to set up a "manager" used to delegate processes to other computers in the LAN. I'm using the System.Management namespace, and I've followed the steps in this example (rewritten in C++):

    http://weblogs.asp.net/steveschofield/archive/2006/06/06/WMI---start-a-process-on-remote-machine-passing-credentials_2E00_.aspx

    I've managed to connect to a remote machine (I know this because I get different error messages if the target machine is turned of), but when trying to log in I get the access denied error:

    Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED))"}

    I've searched around the whole day for a solution, but can't seem to get it right. As a complete newbie to the WMI, I suppose I've missed some very basic information. I've read that I need to be a admin user on the remote machine, but can't understand how to achieve that.

    Would appreciate any help!

    /Magnus
