Do you know application visual architecture patterns? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

in a software world there are some kind of specific patterns of general visual style for business applications. For example some such patterns can be

    1. application that handles all of its entityies in list - details forms, like data driven applications

    2. transation driven applications where every action considered as a transactions and can be done from single place. Imagine for example human resources application where you change person's name, add vocation entry, printing report etc... by going through process of 1. opening new transaction window, 2) specifying transaction type, 3) filling all particular for this transaction type details. So every action is a transaction

    3. Particular object oriented applcitions, where you start by finding your only object by entering it identification number  and then you got huge form with all details related to the object.

also there is some specific patterns that can be found in console or WPF programms. I am speaking here about visual style not about development related issues.

Is there some articles describing such patterns and comparing them? What is the right name of this patterns???

  • A great resource for this is Quince.  This is a community driven user interface/Ux pattern library, with detailed examples.
