Opening Visio with dynamic data RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have a Visio 2007 document that is linked to a SQL Server table using Visio's data access capabilities.  Our end users need to pass a date dynamically to Visio so that the table's data is filtered by that date.  Our current solution involves using a .Net Windows application to truncate and then populate the table based on filtering data by the date entered by the end user. We'd like to streamline this, though, if possible, and are visualizing perhaps using a VBA macro (or something) that runs when the Visio document opens and queries the end user for the desired date, then filters within Visio to display the correct data set, but we're not sure that it's possible to do this sort of thing.  Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks much!
