Microsoft .Net configuration tool on Windows Server 2008 RRS feed

  • Question

  • There was an earlier thread which said this tool should be present under Administrative Tools. Not sure why i dont see it there on my server 2008. I also installed the Windows SDK but this didnt help. I need this tool to modify security permissions for an assembly so that I can run it with mstest.

  • Hi SM_G,

If you want to modify security permissions, Code Access Security Policy Tool (Caspol.exe) can help you to do that. After you have installed .Net Framework, this useful command line tool is also installed by design.
For more information about Caspol.exe, see:
For more information about how to configure Security Policy Using the Code Access Security Policy Tool, see:

If you want to manage .NET Framework 2.0 and later versions by using the .Net Framework configuration tool (GUI tool), you must install the .NET Framework 2.0 Software Development Kit (SDK).
After the installation, you can go to Start menu >> All Programs >> Microsoft .NET Framework SDK v2.0 >> open SDK Command Prompt.
Then type "mscorcfg.msc" command to arise .Net Framework 2.0 configuration tool.

If it doesn't work, please feel free to let me know.
