There a re link generated by javascript code in an aspx page. The links for the documents work fine in both Chrome and Firefox that is when they are clicked the images they link to display correctly but no on IE.

Inspecting the element on IE shows it references the image correctly but when clicking on it nothing shows up

    <a title="Driver Signature" href="data:image/jpeg;base64,Qk023wQAAAAAADYAAAAoAAAAygEAAOgAAAABABgAAAAAAAAAAACHHQAAhx0AAAAAAAAAAAAA////////////////////////////////8AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD etc...AAA=" target="_blank" data-bind="attr: { href: alertLocation, title: alertName, }"><span data-bind=" text: alertName">Driver Signature</span></a>

    Hi Mzwai,

As you did not posted a correct link in href so we are not able to test and see what's going on there when we click on link using IE.

I suggest you to post the correct link so that we can try to visit.

also I suggest you to directly paste the image link in IE Address bar and see it opens the page correctly or not.

as it is working in other browsers so here I assume that the issue is related with IE not with your code.

so you need to check the IE settings to display this content.

also try to check with IE on different machines with same and different versions of IE.

so that we can make a decision that it is related with particular version of IE or it behaves same with all the versions of IE.

    it is helpful for us.

also I would like to suggest to check the options mentioned below.

    (1) Make sure you enable the image in IE

to check follow the steps mentioned below.

    Open Internet Explorer

    • Click Tools
    • Internet Options
    • Advanced Tab
    • Multimedia
    • Click the box for "Show Pictures"

another idea to disable the protected mode:

    (2) Click the TOOLS cog icon in the top right corner

    • Click the SECURITY tab

    (3) Reinstall IE

Reference: Some images and content not displayed as well as some links not working in IE11

    • Open an elevated command prompt.
    •  Copy the command below:
    • FORFILES /P %WINDIR%\servicing\Packages /M Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-*11.*.mum /c "cmd /c echo Uninstalling package @fname && start /w pkgmgr /up:@fname /quiet /norestart"
    •  In the elevated command prompt, paste the command from above, and press Enter in the command prompt.
    •  If you get any error messages (like: Operation Failed with error code0x8007005 Access Denied), then click on OK to continue. You may get a few of them and it’s completely fine
    •  When finished, restart the computer.

      (4) if the images are edited using CMYK color space then try to save it as "Save for Web"

Reference: Why Internet Explorer can not display an image on the site?

    • Make sure you didn't use the CMYK colorspace when creating the image, which IE can't handle. Saving it in RGB colorspace should fix the problem (for example, in Adobe Photoshop, use the "Save for web..." option).

if you find that your issue is related with IE 11 Application then please try to post the question on the forum mentioned below.

so that you will get appropriate suggestion to solve your issue.
