C# and F# for mobile apps. You can also create PCLs in VB.Net and consume them if you're crazy that way.

For long I'm following Xamarin. I run development workshops for college students on Xamarin too. But I stop with development of UWP apps for only reason that Xamarin main development is only on C#. PCL in VB is already used in UWP though. In simple terms if in long run Xamarin is not going to support VB, there are so many developers like me who would never use Xamarin. Instead we look towards UWP .NET Core targeting multiple platform where we can develop using VB language which we are working for over 20 years(VB). Hope soon .Net Core targeting using VB would work in all platforms and we never have to think in machine terms of C#.

Xamarin is just following Microsoft regarding this matter. Sooner or later VB will just disappear because Microsoft will simply kill it. C# isnt that different from VB, really. Try understand a bit of it first, try using a code converter (there are plenty).

I got curious about one thing.. you said "there are so many developers like me who would never use Xamarin" . Well.... you dont like C# but, whats the alternative ? Java ? Javascript ? :)

Anytime VB disappears, we too disappear from programming. It's already 20+ years of programming done in VB alone. VB is Microsoft's own language while other languages are not. Please see the new investments in "Small Basic" language. MS took C# as first language so can accelerate development for NonMicrosoft platforms using Microservices, Dockers, & Containers. There'll be a short time difference when the feature parity is fixed which should be about a month or two. Remember C#, and VB (B#) have same dev head in Microsoft and he's a VB guy. We are guys who already came from IBM platform who did not choose java. So no going to java. Hope you get the message.
