How do I tell Windows about a VPN tunnel ?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two locations with independent Peer-2-peer networks and Internet access.

The Front end Internet access routers (netgear) supports VPN's between them so we have a VPN-TUNNEL between the locations over the internet.

One location is 192.168.0.0-255 and the other is 192.168.1.0-255

I can browse using IE between the two locations and see all my IP devices such as Web servers, and smart devices with IP addresses so I know the tunnel is up and working.

HOWEVER... I can't print accross the tunnel, or see the file shares or print servers (//hostname) across the tunnel.

How do I tell Windows that the tunnel is there and it is OK to use it???

This is an all WinXP-SP3 network with some NAS file stores and Smart IP devices thrown in for good measure.  No "servers" or Domain servers.  All Peer-2-Peer.
