Kinect one vertical stand with skeleton tracking RRS feed

  • It is possible to use Kinect one sensor in vertical with SDK like in Xbox one slim and get skeleton tracking?

  • Nope. Might seem to work but it's not supported officially so it's not reliable. You either use the sensor in vertical mode and write your own skeleton tracking(not a realistic solution) or you use the sensor normally and use trickery to achieve what you want which is doable.

    You can use the sensor horizontally and if you want portrait, you can render only the part around the middle(full height and X width) where the aspect ratio matches 1080x1920. You can also add filtering to skeleton tracking to narrow the area that you seem to track users in order to make sure users always are in the visible area of the rgb frame.

    Since its not officially supported you're gonna have to make compromises, but in the end it depends on the context that your use case is in.

  • If XBox One Slim can use kinect in vertical mode technically should be possible. Any chances to see it in the next Kinect SDK?
