how to create a custom module during platform build RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm not really sure if I can do this but I don't see why not, But I'm having a really hard time at exactly how to do this

I just want to inlude a bunch of files in  the build, I'm not really sure how to make a pkg that I can inlude during the build. Its all in a cab file so maybe I can just create a post build step to run and install it or something.

  • Sure you can include them in the image using platform.bib.

I think that you will be better off to extract the files once and put them in a folder, rather than do it every time you build.

  • Backup and tell us what you need to do.  You used a few vague terms, like pkg, module and include.

Here is what I think you need to do:

    1. You have a CAB file for your target device.
    2. You want to add the files from the CAB file in your OS image

    Is that correct?

  • ok i have this unbelievably silly problem, they want a very specific version of .netcf 2.0 installed, i have a cab file, and there is a folder, wince600\public\NETCFV2 with some package files, that are named .cab.pkg,

so i was trying to model the .netcf v2 i have to look like the one already included,

but its not really necessary, basically, I have some files that are built and I want to inlude them in them build. And this is probably a stupid question, in the platform.bib file, couldn't i just include them in the image? something like $(_PROJECTROOT)\stuffIneed.dll

  • thats actually what i'm hoping for, the way the public\NETCFV2 is doing it seems like it will copy to the flat release each time, I'll try to do the .bib file first with _projectroot\customnetcf\stff.dll or something
