Link to create new lync meeting RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    In html you can do "mailto:" to open a new email, how can this be done to open a new meeting invite? With or without lync meeting?

    SIP opens IM message.

  • Hi Palubob,

    We can also use JavaScript to automate the Outlook via Outlook object model to create a new meeting invite. Here is an example for your reference:

        function newMeeting() {
                var olAppointmentItem = 1;
                outlook = new ActiveXObject("Outlook.Application")
                var appointment = outlook.CreateItem(olAppointmentItem);
                appointment.subject="Hello World!"
                appointment.Location = "location";
                appointment.Start = "9/7/2015";

                appointment.Display();
            }

    And you can get more detail about Outlook object model from link below:

  • There is no such protocol. You may consider adding a meeting invitation as an attachment to the email instead.
