    Hello

Can someone please tell me how I can find out what version of SQL Express 2008 I have.

I need this because I am following some video tutorials regarding SQL Express, and the guy goes and installs the Management Tools (Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express 2005).

Obviously I would need the 2008 version, but I want to check if I have it already installed ! How do I find that out ?

In my Installed Programs I have something called { Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Management Objects } < Does that mean I already have the Management Tools for SQL Express 2008 ?

I would greatly appreciate some help.

    Thank You.

    My apologies,

Go to your Programs -> SQL Express Server 2008 -> SQL Server Management Studio ->  Help -> About

You could also query what Marky suggested in a label in VS, but i'm not sure you know how to do that yet...you will soon tho! :)

    I hope this helps you!

    On the toolbar:

    Help -> About..

Tells you everything about your version.

    Hope it helps!

Toolbar: Is that in VS 2010 ?

Cause here is what I get and there is no mention of SQL, even though I know for sure I have it installed !

All I want to know is whether I have the Management Tools installed with it or not.

    Thanks

    Hi Wr3ckin

I have no Management Studio inside that folder ! Here is a Screenshot:

However in VS I was messing about and I saw a button that says : Show SQL Pane !

I clicked on that and I get like a SQL Terminal window, in which I can type queries and follow the guy in the tutorial !! < Which is Super Great, However I still don't know if I have Management Studio or not !

    Thanks

    Thanks Wr3ckin.

I'll continue with the guy, and when he does something that I can't do with that SQL Pane. I'll download the Management thing.

    Thanks once again.

PS. Good quote in your Signature. Smile
