help: how to get printer status in real-time in metro styl app?

my boss ask me to write metro app demo to check printer status and generate status report dynamically. i found no way to do it. appreciate your help.

Is it possible to get the printer status withouth authoring a V4 driver? Is it possible to get the status of all installed printing devices?
